You are really cementing your reputation for knowledgeable curiosity-driven journalism here. Nowhere else could I picture such a well written examination of a Libertarian candidate who is so learned and articulate.
He must know he has no chance of winning, but he also knows he can be hugely influential in prodding the major party candidates to address the issues.
Thank you for this reporting, and skipping the Roast & Ride Propaganda Picnic. His issues are well thought out and articulated. One has to wonder why the Democratic Party is not pushing these same themes. Could it be the money?
Thanks for stepping away from the circus to look at what is happening in the fringes. Whatever else Laehn supports, on those two points he is spot on. I wish Democrats would congeal around these same points and around the many progressive issues they are avoiding to play to the center. Laehn might pick up a little D support along the way.
excellent article young laura and may i interject the idea once again and again and again, term limits...we've talked about the d.c. swamp forever but in reality we have nothing short of a pig trough in our political system...as long as we slop the political mass with everything they've wanted, we will never have politics for the people, by the people...we are not being served, listened to or appreciated, clearly once they(politicians) make the dance they never go away and they never listen to any of our honored wants and needs...TERM LIMITS...NOW
exactly, our political system is now run by billionaires pouring money into puppet politicians who are nothing but yes men to the oligarch(a very rich business leader with a great deal of political influence...)

Interesting! His campaign message if successful would be a breath of fresh air in a stale environment!

And get big money out of politics. That and term limits would be a wonderful one-two punch to knocking out much of what ails our politics.

More great work and thoughtful comments.
I might not agree with all of his policies, but the points he raises are valid and important!
