I appreciate your work on the anti-Transgender legislation that the governor recently signed. In response to it, I wrote an article (unpublished) called “A Theology for Transgender People.” Would you like to read it? If so, how do I send it to you?
I long ago lost the belief that all legislators are smarter than me. Your posts, always appreciated, confirm that letting the scales fall from my eyes was a wise decision.
Molly Ivins gave me a lot of laughs back in the day when she reported on the idiots in what she called the Texas Lege. Unfortunately, that idiocy has been proven to be communicable.
I too was an educator, but in Iowa when they ranked near the top of student achievement and funding, all under a great Republican, Robert Ray. But today they are below the midline, have become DEI restricted, woefully underfunded, are pushing charter schools as the panacea to all their educational problems. The state is broke, schools broken due to Governor Kim Reynolds, a Trump sycophant. Iowa now allows high school students to work in factories full time, robbing them of precious study time or time to be just a kid. She needs to go.

Some of them are very smart! But others lack understanding, perspective, or intellectual curiosity.
Yep. That's why I conditioned my statement to say "all legislators."
