Good read today. If I’m a paid subscriber to the IWC itself, am I eligible for the get-together?

1.For how long has Sen Grassley shut you out of conference calls? And how common is that practice?

2. Do you expect Pres Biden to gain political points for seeming to encourage aid first, rather than invasion? Or is he getting too close to Netanyahu for Biden’s own good. Looks like a real tightrope for President…..

I have no idea whether Biden will get credit but it seems clear that he is trying to restrain the Israeli government. Maybe not effectively but that seems to be his goal.

I have never been able to participate in a single one of Senator Grassley's conference calls. In fact for the last 6-8 years his staff have refused even to put me on their distribution list for press releases. I can get those on his official website, but sometimes there is a delay.

Senator Ernst's staff have allowed me to call in to her conference calls with Iowa reporters, but they have never once allowed me to ask the senator a question on one of those calls, even when I emailed ahead of time to let them know I would have a question.

Representative Ashley Hinson's staff take the Grassley approach: I am not even allowed to dial in and listen to her conference calls with Iowa reporters.

I have no idea how common the practice is around the country.

That's all very disturbing.....

It is honestly a pretty significant impediment to my news gathering. I have to rely on snippets that appear in other people's published articles. But for my style of reporting I often need the whole context, not just one sound bite.
