As coal fired generating plants begin to go off line, energy is simply going to be more and more expensive not only for the poor and disadvantaged, but everyone who plugs in! Simple organizations such as small towns are going to find property taxes increase, not for the benefit of the community, but simply to pay electric bills for street lighting and public buildings. Dismissing the fact that a Democrat is in the position to put this money out there for the states to recieve, and off handedly not including letters of support from labor or there training programs that are already in place and working, just added fuel to the fire not to fund Iowa's funding request. A simple look at the map of places that got funding will tell you other very Republican states got a share of the pie and my guess was they were willing to "dance with the devil" to get what they wanted! That worked and they got their money, Iowa got zilch! Think on that, those who are willing to work with the system get money to improve their state. Iowa being such a fanatical RED state, makes us impossible to work with when it comes to some pretty liberal grant funding, rather than our politicans dealing with it, we Iowan's lose! Now is the time to reconsider who you want to make decisions when it comes to the good of the state and its people. It is time to end this sort of activity, and right the ship! If electric rates are through the roof, no amount of tax cut is going to make Iowa a draw to business. If the cost of schools isn't fixed, if the fact that are water is so bad over 700 streams aren't fit to swim or even wade in, if you continue to tell people who are migrants you don't want them, just how are you going to maintain any growth in this state? A vast majority of the voters who live here aren't the "special people" Corporat farmers and those intent on controling the food industry in this country, who get whatever they want! It is time for a more balanced approach that works for all Iowan's and doesn't dismiss the Federal Government as politically motivated at every turn!
This is such a huge loss, esp. when the instructions for the elements missing were right in the grant process. Who was responsible for writing the grant? That seems to be where the problem lies. I see also that no grant was applied for in 2023 by Iowa???
