Why would our Gov. approve of ads reinforcing negative stereotypes about people of color, and flatly lying about her opponent)? I think she is auditioning for higher office.
It may be a trope ("I'm not racist, look at my Black friend!") that won't fool anyone--but it provides lots of 'cover' for people not wanting to believe our Gov. is comfortable promoting racist ads (and unethicall for its lies) . Gov."s campaign played its next move in the chess match of campaigns bringing in a black Cong candidate. What should the response of the Demo party be? Perhaps this candidate from Texas denies Biden is President? Perhaps this candidate is a QANON? Perhaps this candidate thinks there are good people among the Proud Boys at Charlottesville? He should be pressed to answer.
The ad or Reynolds campaigning with a Black Republican won't fool anyone committed to voting for Deidre but they will both be quite effective with all too many Iowans, so I have to disagree.
If these appeals to racism hit a mark in Iowa, I guess we’ll know something about our state that we will wish was otherwise.
