Thanks, Laura. I wondered what it must have been like to be the smiling mannequin standing behind Reynolds. You made many good points.

Over the years I have learned to ask the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board about things like this because their interpretation of certain state laws is not always what I would assume.

I remember hearing him say it quite a few times. Don't assume some opportunity will still be around in a year or two when you feel more ready for it.

Thanks for your informative article.

In response, I offer the following, personal "takeaway": "A Tale of Two Banks", paraphrasing a book of similar title by Charles Dickens---

(1) The "Banks" Mr. Gregg will service/represent, as President and CEO of the "Iowa Bankers Association"

AND----

(2) The "Food Bank of Iowa"---article, May 15, 2024---"Nealy 11% of Iowans (1 in 9) and 15.4% of Iowa children (1 in 6) face food insecurity...Highest food insecurity since 2017...".

The rumor I keep hearing is that Reynolds intends to make Breanna Bird her successor, and that Kimmy wants to move on to something federal, either in a Trump admin., or possibly replace Grassley when he retires. All I care about is having Reynolds gone, except that she is likely to be replaced by someone even worse, same as Terry was..

I hate to even say this, but I heard a rumor (and yes, that's probably exactly what it is) that he quit because Reynolds started drinking. The person who said this, said she heard it from a "credible source." I doubt that, but was curious as to what you think. Thank you.

I have not heard anything about that and wouldn't put much credence in that rumor. My understanding is that he has been unhappy in the job for a long time.

Thank you. And believe me, I thought it was a rumor, but this person was convinced.
