Then she might as well do everything she can to give MAGA the finger from here on out.

Republicans -profiles in cowardice.

So this is on the republicans. No democrat will vote for a tremendously unqualified, drunk.

Or for a tremendously unqualified, vindictive lunatic for AG.

Their cowardice is putting our country and our constitution at risk.

Can’t wait for the leopards to eat their faces.

Hi Laura,

Thank you for this synopsis of our National and State-wide elected Senators and Representatives, their commitment to typical GOP tactics. Speaking with a broad brush, It seems to me that rural, and suburban voters seem content with this entrenched bunch of politicians and it is frustrating to watch. Democracy dies when uninformed voters don’t see the micropolitan communities’ gutting, even after the whole private education voucher scam was approved last legislative session. I had no idea that the number of women legislators dropped significantly within both of the State chambers. Again thank you for these insights into our ill informed state and national voters, despite the fact that there are stellar micro and metropolitan newspapers doing their best to inform and educate despite wave after wave of ‘free’ social media infotainment platforms.

Laura: Thanks for the link in your Bleeding Heartland piece showing Joshua Smith’s rants on “X”. His unfiltered emotions and grievances are a perfect example of what MAGA has wrought….and why capitulating to that movement continues to be such a horrible mistake (made by a horde of people including Senator Ernst). His attitude reminds me of that of a lynch mob….

Iowa has always been on my mind since I became active in politics 10 years ago. The Dems need to figure out how to win again there...can you tell me more about the the Democratic state Party and who leads it? Bohannon's loss was so close! Can you actually fight back...like the ballot curing high jinks? Or is the corruption and control by the Repugs so tight that it's impossible?
